Our Family Roots:
The Mercantile was created from a love of family, faith, creativity, and tradition.
At the heart of our business is a desire to create something that keeps our family connected, even as each generation grows and follows its own path. Our family includes first responders, teachers, nurses, pilots, stay-at-home moms, students, entrepreneurs, grandmothers, and great-grandmothers. We have different careers, talents, ages, and responsibilities, but the Mercantile gathers us around a table where those differences can come together.
Many of the items we offer are handmade, restored, repurposed, or thoughtfully picked by different members of our family. Each person contributes in their own way—whether sewing, crafting, refinishing furniture, creating art, finding vintage treasures, or sharing skills and traditions that have been passed down through generations.
For us, the Mercantile is about more than selling beautiful things. It is about preserving memories, teaching the next generation, giving old things new purpose, and creating opportunities for grandmothers, mothers, daughters, grandchildren, and extended family to work alongside one another.
Our hope is that when someone purchases something from the Mercantile, they aren’t simply taking home an item. They are taking home a small piece of our family’s story—something created, restored, or chosen with purpose.
That is the heart behind our words:
Restored • handcrafted • Redeemed
Thank you for taking the time to read Our Family Roots. We look forward to sharing this season of our journey with you! Please do not hesitate to contact us if you would like further information.
