Many of our pieces are handmade, vintage, antique, restored, repurposed, refinished, one-of-a-kind, or created using previously loved materials. Their variations, history, and individual character are part of what makes them special.
Please review the following shop policies before making a purchase.
HANDMADE ITEMS
Handmade items are individually created and may vary slightly in color, size, texture, pattern, placement, shape, or finish.
No two handmade pieces are expected to be exactly alike. These subtle differences are part of the beauty and character of handcrafted goods and are not necessarily considered defects.
VINTAGE & ANTIQUE ITEMS
Vintage and antique items are sold in their current condition unless otherwise stated in the product description.
We carefully inspect our pieces and make every reasonable effort to photograph and describe noticeable characteristics accurately. However, because of their age and previous use, vintage and antique items may have wear, patina, marks, previous repairs, variations, or imperfections that are not immediately visible.
These characteristics are often part of the history and character of the piece and are not necessarily considered defects.
Unless specifically represented otherwise, vintage and antique items should not be assumed to meet current manufacturing, food-safety, electrical, child-safety, or other modern safety standards.
Decorative vintage pieces should be used accordingly when their original intended use or safety cannot be verified.
RESTORED & REPURPOSED FURNITURE
Our restored and repurposed furniture is thoughtfully refreshed while preserving as much of the character and story of the original piece as possible.
Older furniture may include age-related characteristics such as variations in wood, previous repairs, tool marks, uneven surfaces, signs of wear, or characteristics of its original construction.
Repurposed pieces may also be used in a way that differs from their original purpose.
Customers are responsible for determining whether a piece is appropriate for their intended location and use.
ORIGINAL ARTWORK
Unless otherwise stated, original watercolor paintings, hand-painted pieces, and other artwork identified as original artwork are individually created originals.
Variations resulting from the artistic process are part of the individual character of each piece.

PRODUCT PHOTOGRAPHY & COLOR
We make every reasonable effort to photograph and represent our merchandise accurately.
Colors may appear slightly different depending on lighting, photography, computer monitors, phones, tablets, and individual display settings.
Natural wood grain, handmade finishes, paint variations, patina, vintage materials, and other naturally occurring characteristics may also cause differences from one piece to another.
PRICING & AVAILABILITY
All prices displayed on our website are listed in U.S. dollars unless otherwise stated.
Prices and product availability are subject to change.
Because many Via Bella Mercantile pieces are one-of-a-kind, vintage, handmade, or produced in very limited quantities, placing an item in your online shopping cart does not necessarily reserve the item.
An item is not considered purchased until checkout and payment have been successfully completed and the order has been accepted.
Because we also sell merchandise at in-person markets and events, it is possible in rare circumstances for a one-of-a-kind item to sell at approximately the same time online and in person.
If an item you purchased is no longer available, we will contact you and refund the amount paid for that unavailable item.
TAXES
Applicable taxes will be collected or charged where required by law.
PAYMENT
Via Bella Mercantile accepts the payment methods displayed during online checkout or offered at our in-person markets and events.
Online payment information is processed through our payment service provider.
Via Bella Mercantile does not intentionally store complete credit or debit card numbers on our website.
CARE OF HANDMADE & RESTORED ITEMS
Handmade, painted, refinished, decoupaged, wood, pottery, acrylic, vintage, and restored items may require special care.
Unless otherwise stated, avoid prolonged exposure to:
• Water or excessive moisture
• Excessive heat
• Direct sunlight
• Harsh cleaning products
• Abrasive materials
• Extreme or sudden temperature changes
Care instructions provided with a particular item should take precedence over these general recommendations.
